COMPANY
PROFILE
Pushing Boundaries (PiBi) Sdn Bhd had its origins in earlier companies beginning with Banseki Sdn Bhd
(BSB) and Banseki Outdoor Pursuits Management (BOPM)
in 1992 and then Banseke Human Resource Development
Centre Banseke HRDC) Sdn Bhd from 1996.
Col
Nik Zainin, and his partner in BSB then, were the pioneers in the
design and structuring of the Malaysian `corporate war
game’ genre of training-approach. Since the first course
for MEDEC in 1992, the course has been refined and improved
over the 14 years that they have been conducted for
more than 4000 participants of all levels – from CEOs
to Tea-Ladies -, from the private as well as public
sectors.
Appropriate
courses and programmes have also been designed and conducted
for schools, colleges, and youth organisations through
the Young Leaders and Youth Development courses. Those
that have undergone these programmes and courses include
Jurong Junior
College, Jurong
Technical College,
the Mendaki Foundation and the Madrasah Al-Junied, all
from Singapore
and the International School Kuala Lumpur.
Though
most courses are conducted at PiBi’s Corporate Wargame
Centre in Jeram Besu, Pahang, many more have also been
conducted at sites determined by client-organisations
themselves such as in Penang, Terengganu, Johor,
Malacca, Sabah, Sarawak and even overseas such as in
Indonesia and Thailand.
The
local youths and young leaders trained so far have been
prefects, and clubs and societies leaders from schools
in Langkawi, Subang Jaya, Bandar Sunway and Kajang as
well as youths on the Rakan Rekreasi and Personal Development
programmes arranged by the Youth and Sports Department
of Raub, Youth Camps for Ampang Rotary and underprivileged
youths of Kemaman, Terengganu.
In
conducting programmes and courses, Col Nik Zainin and
team usually not only depended on the permanent staff
of his outfit, but has also frequently employed the
services of many more casuals which they tap from the
Persatuan Mendaki Malaysia, the Kuala Lumpur Canoe Association,
the Malaysian Armed Forces, the Royal Malaysian Police,
the trained River Guides of Jeram Besu, Raub and the
Orang Asli from villages in the vicinity.
PiBi’s
Technical Adviser is Human Factors International, business
psychologists and management consultants with its head
office in West Midlands England, and branches in Spain,
Norway
and Russia.
Pibi also has, as their Associates, Aspire Consulting Sdn
Bhd, an experienced Organisational Development consultancy.
Aspire, provides them with the some of the foundations
for the teambuilding modules of their courses with the
use of psychometric tests tools, especially the Hermann
Brain Dominance Instruments, of which they are a licensee
of.
Other than organised to conduct management courses, PiBi also conducts
adventure, ecotourism and river-sports programmes for
foreign tourists as well as locals.
